چکیده
This study determined whether it is feasible to pretreat mixed agro-waste of different particle sizes using the pitcher fluid Nepenthes mirabilis (N. mirabilis), which known digest leaf litter due enzyme cocktail contained in fluid. need for holocellulolysis (a source fermentable sugars) produce hydrolysates. The was fractionated (<3 kDa, >3 <10 >10 kDa) and slurrified with agro-waste, i.e., 25% (w/w) each waste—orange peels, apple maize cobs, grape pomace, oak plant various sizes, >75 µm x < 106 >106 µm. process producing a high concentration total reducible sugars (TRSs) lowest production phenolic compounds (TPCs) be size µm, pretreatment 72 h, an fraction whereby 97 g/L TRSs were produced significantly lower TPCs load (1 g/L). Furthermore, kDa showed preferable physico-chemical properties, highest reduction-oxidation potential including acidity. Several enzymes, ?-1,3-Glucanase, Putative peroxidase 27, Thaumatin-like protein, among others, identified fraction, enzymes perform functions plant-based waste. Therefore, there renewable energy industry consider solely fluids hydrolysates’ production, can used as liquid feedstock bioenergy and/or biorefinery industries environmental pollution reduction.

Tropical pitcher plants in the species-rich Nepenthaceae family of carnivorous plants possess unique pitcher organs. Hybridisation, natural or artificial, in this family is extensive resulting in pitchers with diverse features. The pitcher functions as a passive insect trap with digestive fluid for nutrient acquisition in nitrogen-poor habitats. This organ shows specialisation according to the ...
متن کاملMicrobiome and Biocatalytic Bacteria in Monkey Cup (Nepenthes Pitcher) Digestive Fluid
Tropical carnivorous plant, Nepenthes, locally known as "monkey cup", utilises its pitcher as a passive trap to capture insects. It then secretes enzymes into the pitcher fluid to digest the insects for nutrients acquisition. However, little is known about the microbiota and their activity in its pitcher fluid. Eighteen bacteria phyla were detected from the metagenome study in the Nepenthes pit...

Background Waste biomass from agro-food industries are a reliable and readily exploitable resource. From the circular economy point of view, direct residues from these industries exploited for production of fuel/chemicals is a winning issue, because it reduces the environmental/cost impact and improves the eco-sustainability of productions. Results The present paper reports recent results of ...
